While these individuals would choose not to seek charity, they find themselves in an unenviable position of needing assistance, and then find that they do not meet guidelines of more traditional providers.WCHF will provide crisis funding for individuals that can prove they are gainfully employed and can show need. Participants must be able to articulate what circumstances caused the crisis, and what steps they plan to take to prevent similar circumstances from occurring again. Funds will not be distributed to the individuals, but directly used to resolve the immediate crisis. Participants will not be asked to repay the amount, but will be asked to sign an ethical contract that will require that they in somehow “pay forward” the good will assistance that was given to them. That “pay it forward” can be as simple as helping a friend in need, mowing the lawn of an elderly neighbor, or volunteering at a local non-profit.
